They are used for cooking, wrapping and food-serving in a wide range of cuisines in tropical and subtropical areas - where they stuff meat and wrapped with banana leaves. Fish and pork can be wrapped in leaves and baked with coconut milk and other ingredients, also locale variety of lamb are often steamed in banana leaves.

Packaging is done in aerated cartons weighing 4 to 10 kilograms.
